According to RadarOnline.com, an unnamed Brazilian man has recounted the traumatic and horrific incident of allegedly witnessing his wife’s doctor decapitating their newborn during a childbirth procedure gone wrong.

The man has accused the physician of tearing off the infant’s head while trying to deliver the baby.

The family, represented by a lawyer, has also accused the hospital of attempting to conceal the disturbing incident.

Following the death of her child on May 1, Ranielly Coelho Santos filed a complaint against the hospital two days later.

Santos had sought medical attention for high blood pressure when she was 28 weeks pregnant at the Hospital das Clinicas da UFMG in Santa Efigenia on April 24, according to her family.

After seven days of treatment, her doctor induced labor, which resulted in a seven-hour traumatic experience that ultimately ended in the loss of her child.

The husband of Santos claimed that during his wife’s active childbirth, the doctor instructed him to stand nearby and observe the procedure. According to the father, he witnessed his daughter’s face, and even saw the infant blinking and moving her mouth. However, things took a bizarre turn when the physician climbed on top of Santos’ stomach.

The father recounted a horrifying experience as he witnessed the doctor allegedly “ripping off the child’s head” while attempting to pull the infant out, leaving him in utter shock and horror.

The family of Santos alleged that the hospital apologized for the incident and sent a social worker to meet with them.

According to the family, the social worker offered to cover the burial expenses of the infant on behalf of the hospital, but on the condition that the family signed documents that falsely stated that the autopsy had already been conducted at the hospital and the child’s body had been examined.

The agreement also included that the infant’s body would not be forwarded to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for further examination.

Santos’ lawyer, Jennifer Valente, revealed that the family declined to sign the documents and instead filed a complaint with local law enforcement about the incident. The hospital expressed deep regret for the situation in a statement to Itatiaia and pledged to investigate the matter while awaiting the autopsy report. The family has yet to be reunited with their child’s body, but they have planned a burial service for when it is returned to them.
